Meet Beth
Beth arrived in Myrtle Beach in 1990, recently divorced and ready to start a new life. Not long after arriving she met her future husband, Mike Marcis, owner of Easton Industries. Over the years of traveling with her husband on golf trips, Beth would visit the locals spas and wonder why Myrtle Beach didn’t have anything similar? “All the entertainment was geared towards men. Women had nothing but shopping and a spa seemed like a natural.” she says. Determined to open a spa on the Grand Strand that concentrated on wellness, Beth visited spas all over the world to discover not what she liked, but what she didn’t like. “A lot of people thought I was nuts,” Beth remembers. “They didn’t think Myrtle Beach was ready for it.”
She opened Her Body & Soul in Queens Harbour in 2000 and it has been evolving ever since. It’s visited by 7,000 patrons a year. She credits her husband, Mike with being a vital part of her success.
Beth has also branched out into Spa Development and Consulting and has developed The Awakening at the Anderson Ocean Club in Myrtle Beach in 2008, where she is Spa Director and recently developed The Sanctuary Spa in 2010. Located in The Hampton Inn Ocean Suites on 1801 Ave. South Ocean Blvd Myrtle Beach SC .
Beth was born in Wichita, Kansas and raised in Detroit by Air Force parents. She and her 4 siblings were raised by her mother after her father died of a heart attack at 35. Beth also is the proud mother of three children and three grand children.
